We should never forget what a luxury this truly is. Clean drinking water is essential. Unfortunately, it’s not a given everywhere. CLEAN DRINKING WATER
ISN’T FREE FOR EVERYONE

When we turn on the faucet at home, we immediately get fresh drinking quality water straight from the tap; and for free (almost). Even water from the shower or even the toilet is healthy and drinkable.
We should never forget what a luxury this truly is. Clean drinking water is essential. Unfortunately, it’s not a given everywhere. Ecuador, the republic named after the equator line in the northwest of South America, is considered to be the country with the most species on earth and has about 15 million inhabitants. A very high cancer rate, even among children is due to the fact that the rain forests of Ecuador, 4000 square kilometres of land, were contaminated by waste materials from oil production that went against regulations. Crude oil, chemicals and heavy metals continue to pollute the drinking water of Ecuador’s people.
As a public figure I see myself as a role model for other people and feel it is part of my personal responsibility. I’ve had a lot of luck in my life and especially as a proud father I think, why should other people not be allowed to enjoy the same happiness that I do, that we do? For this reason I founded the ClearWater Initiative.  a few years back. The project will provide water treatment facilities to people in the Amazon region of Ecuador whose natural resources have been destroyed by the industry in search of oil and gas.

“Clean drinking water
should be a fundamental human right.
And yet it isn’t.”

ClearWater has received several awards for this project, including a Bambi in the ‘Our Earth’ category and a GreenTec Award in the ‘Green Music Award’ category in 2013. It just gives me and us even more of an incentive to keep going. We can all make a difference together. Hence my plea to you. Inform yourself at giveclearwater.org and support our project if you can!
God Bless,
REA
